Some simple steps to protect your network from hackers:
1) Don’t give easy passwords so that anybody can guess it.
Have a combination of complicated passwords that even a hacker can never hack.
2) Don’t Give passwords such as name, phone numbers etc.
3) Close all those useless ports which are not in use.
4) Keep the firewall on.
5) Keep your antivirus up to date.
6) Don’t use server from your admin account, make other dummy account with some limited but useful access.
7) Never allow any other to attach pendrive or any mass storage devices, it may contain any hacking tool which can get all your passwords.
8) Use your USB for booting process. That will tighten the security.
9) Use tools like folder lock and others to lock some important data.
10) Take regular backup of the server.
